Term Four is well underway in Middle School and being only 8 weeks long there is a lot going on in a relatively short period of time. We are kicking the Term off in style by hosting the Wave FM Breakfast on Friday morning from 7am – 9am. Students from Years 5 & 6 are involved in singing in the Karaoke competition, “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” competition and “On Air” interviews. All students will enjoy a great breakfast compliments of Wave FM.
In Week 2, our Yr 6 students will be hearing from Bruce Coleman from Choices of Life about the wonder and value of human life. Our mathematicians will travel by bus to Luna Park in Week 3 for an excursion involving investigating maths in action.
On a more serious note, Middle School students will complete their yearly examinations in Weeks 4 and 5 and are encouraged to start their study early. Examination time tables for Yr 7 & 8 will be given out over the next week.
The orientation program for Yr 5 students begins in week 3 with a number of activities planned to introduce Yr 4 students to life in Middle School. These activities include experiencing new subjects such as Japanese, Art, Music and TAS.
The Yr 7 Orientation Day will be held on Wednesday 25th November where our current Yr 6 students will join with new students entering Yr 7 at Cedars in 2010.
Our students are also busy preparing for their item for our end of year Cedars Celebration. Stay tuned for more information on this one, but make sure you have the date, Thursday 10th December, firmly locked into your diary.
