Mr Michael Ramsey
Working in a school has represented a change of pace for Business Manager Michael Ramsey, who spent nearly a quarter of a century as a Chartered Accountant in private practice and later as Management Accountant at the University of Wollongong.
He says that since his arrival at the College in 2008, he has come to appreciate the links between his work and the core business of the school.
‘I feel really proud that what I do has positive impacts on teaching and learning. I can see that my work directly impacts on the classroom; getting the technology right, making sure that teachers have the resources they need to be as effective as they can be.’
After receiving a Bachelor of Business in Accounting from the University of Western Sydney and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Wollongong, Michael undertook varied roles in internal and external accounting.
A devoted Penrith Panthers’ fan, Michael says that while, he ‘is not proud of some of the historical fashion choices of the Panthers,’ he still enjoys watching his ‘chocolate soldiers’ turning out on the Rugby League paddock every week.
Michael is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and a partner of Lighthouse Church where he has attended for over 20 years with his wife Carol and three children.
A keen surfer, Michael can be found in the early morning enjoying a wave off the coast of Windang.
