Mrs Kellyanne Guest

Director of Secondary

For Science teachers like Kellyanne Guest, exploring environments drives her curiosity. ‘To look into a microscope is to discover something special. Science is all around us. It is about how we look at the world. It increases our understanding and empowers us.’

It is this passion about how things work that drives her work as the Director of Secondary, a role she was appointed to in 2017 after being the Director of Studies since 2014.

Having completed her tertiary education at the University of Wollongong and achieving a Bachelor of Science with a joint major in Nutrition and Human Movement, Kellyanne then went on to complete her Diploma of Education.

She was employed by the Department of Education as a Science and Biology Teacher for 17 years, originally being placed as a targeted graduate. During that time, she acted in the capacity of Head Teacher Science and Head Teacher Administration before joining Cedars at the beginning of 2013.

Her new role is one that has many faces.

‘It is certainly busy juggling a number of hats including Director of Secondary and being part of a dynamic Executive Team.’

‘I am passionate and dedicated to providing quality education and strive for excellence in all areas of teaching and learning. I enjoy getting to know students, investing in them and encouraging them to achieve their full potential. It is an absolute privilege to be part of shaping a child’s life as they become young adults.’

Kellyanne is happily married to James, and their two children, Jack and Lily, also attend Cedars. She is a busy woman but makes time for many leisurely pursuits.

‘I love spending time with my immediate family, extended family and friends. I enjoy travelling, snorkeling, music, dancing, photography, baking, surf ski paddling, running and finding new and innovative ways to keep fit and healthy.’
