Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Ed is an enriching program inviting young people to participate in a number of activities over a set length of time, including skill development, physical recreation and community service. The internationally recognised award gives participants opportunity to design their own unique program centred around their interests and passions, and is entirely voluntary. At Cedars students also engage in overnight hiking journeys, developing leadership skills, team work and individual competencies. The award vision is for all young people in Australia to be empowered to explore their potential and achieve success.

Overseas Trips
The College offers opportunities for students to participate in trips that extend their curriculum and broaden their world view. These have included mission trips to Darwin, history study tours to Germany and cultural trips to Japan.

Careers and Further Study
There are a range of opportunities that allow students to work towards their future career. With a dedicated work experience program, careers expo, and assistance with university entrance schemes including early entry, students are given support to effectively transition into the next stage of their lives.
Goal Setting
Cedars students are challenged to achieve their personal best in all endeavours. In the words of King Solomon, a man well renown for his wisdom, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might ” (Ecclesiastes 9:10) and it is this scripture that has formed the premise upon which the goal setting program at Cedars has its foundation.

Through this program students identify personal goals and, with the support of teachers and parents, work toward these outcomes. This pursuit of excellence has not only brought reward and recognition to individual students and the College but most importantly these achievements are a reflection of our collective commitment to bring glory to God through all we do.
