A year to remember – not to forget

It may be a year many would want to forget.

But the last day of Term 3 was a day we all want to remember.

It was a celebration of our Yr 12’s schooling journey at Cedars. It was their final day of school.

This was not their Graduation Ceremony yet…. (that will come in Term 4).

It all began with a beautiful breakfast for the Class of 2020 with teachers and staff who had taught them and encouraged them until the very end. The day finished with a walkthrough of the entire school as each student and staff member celebrated our graduates as they passed by.

We thought it would be special for them to put on their caps and gowns in Prep where many of them began their schooling journey at Cedars. The Class of 2020 led by our College Captains then began their walk through a massive archway of balloons into Junior School, Middle School and then ending at Senior College.

Every class had prepared a special Covid safe way of celebrating each graduating student from waving pom poms to party hats and streamers to holding signs of individual students.

There was hardly a dry eye in the entire school as our graduates walked past the students who have prayed for them, some even their own brothers or sisters, and many teachers who have taught them along their journey.

The walkthrough ended in the Cedars Leadership Centre where Yr 12 students listened to an inspirational speech from Mr Walton and then our new Captains for 2021 were welcomed in and presented their badges by the outgoing Captains.

The students then danced to the song Glorious – and glorious it was!

The day ended as each graduate was presented with a beautifully packed gift bag which each class had lovingly prepared – there were prayers and bible verses plus many many treats and gifts for each. Yes the tears flowed once again.

A year to remember ?

For our class of 2020 – we hope you never forget it – we love and celebrate you and are so incredibly proud of you.
