One of our alumni, Tian Collins who graduated from Cedars in 2017, is featured on the @uow website!
Tian is in her 3rd year of a Bachelor of Education ‘The Early Years’ Degree. Not only does she have a High Distinction average, she has received the Dean’s Merit Award each year including
* Dean’s Merit List for Outstanding Academic Performance (2018)
* Dean’s Merit List for Outstanding Academic Performance (2019)
* Outstanding Achievement in the Professional Partners in Practice (PPP) Program – Bachelor of Education – The Early Years (2019)
“My future goals are to work with young children in some capacity. I absolutely love them and after studying I now also understand how critical it is that children are supported during those early years. Maybe down the track I’d consider pursuing further research in the area of early childhood education.” Tian is an Honours candidate for her course next year so will quite possible be working on her thesis in 2021.
“Cedars absolutely helped me to develop my work ethic. I remember being taught about ‘grit’ and resilience, and my teachers were amazing and willing to put in extra time to support me if I wanted/needed it. Cedars also gave us lots of opportunities to explore potential career paths and relevant Uni courses through career advisor meetings, discovery days and information sessions with our year group. This definitely solidified my plans for after the HSC and supported my transition into Uni through Early Entry.”
Congratulations, Tian, you are doing an outstanding job and are one of our greatest results!
