Introducing our 2020 Middle School House Captains

Sport at Cedars continues to grow and 2020 will see our sporting houses; Johnson, Deakin and Orton led by an outstanding group of young leaders, our new Middle School House Captains.

These students have been involved in a wide variety of sporting endeavours throughout their time at the College. They have demonstrated exceptional teamwork, character and attitude and these qualities have been recognised as attributes that will help them in their role.

Let’s get to know our House Captains a little better:

Chante Boshoff

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement? 

“My most memorable sporting achievement so far, is probably when I got the Middle School Sports Woman of the Year at Cedars in 2019.”
What is your favourite food?

“Lamb chops, the way my dad BBQ’s them.”
What do you hope to bring to your role?
“I hope to encourage students younger than me to take part in sport events and to give a crack at new things. Also to enjoy and appreciate the fact that our school presents sport days which are fun and inclusive.”

Alexander Vartazarian

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement?
“Kicking 5 goals on a winning side in my AFL Grand Final and being mentioned in a news article.”
What is your favourite food?

“I don’t have one.”

What do you hope to bring to your role?

“To encourage all of my peers to play sport and enjoy themselves.”

Johnson

Zoe Thomas

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement?

“My most memorable achievement in sport so far is when I got to CIS Cross Country which was a great experience and I hope to go again next year.”

What is your favourite food?

“My favourite food has go to be olives.”

What do you hope to bring to your role?

“I hope to bring encouragement and fun to my role.”

Joshua Keys

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement?

“When I came second at Country Championships in swimming.”

What is your favourite food?

“Burritos”

What do you hope to bring to your role?

“I hope to get kids excited about the carnivals and get them involved.”

Orton

Charlotte Thompson

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement?

“Making it to National Acrobatics in 2015 and coming first overall (National Champions) when I was 9. In 2016, going to Nationals (acrobatics) again and coming 3rd overall (bronze) when I was 10. Making NSW gymnastics squads (Team future), elite training clinics and AIS camps. Making it to nationals for gymnastics in 2018. Making team future elite clinics again in 2019. Going to PSSA cricket in 2018 and 2019. Making NSW Academy for cricket in 2018. Making it to CIS in 2019 for athletics. Winning CSSA gymnastics 2019 for school.”  

What is your favourite food?

“Fruit and pesto pasta with feta.”

What do you hope to bring to your role?

“Encouragement towards sport and peers. Encouraging sportsmanship and encouraging other people to do sport and get fit and healthy. Being a sport role model. Helping other people gain a better perspective and understanding of sport.”

Tyler Davidson

What is your most memorable sporting moment or achievement?

“Getting 41, 3-5  in cricket, kicking 2 goals in my AFL Grand Final.”

What is your favourite food?

“My favourite food is lasagna.”

What do you hope to bring to your role?

“To help younger kids get involved in the carnivals and encourage them to go in as many events as possible.”
