Who ever said Chapel had to be boring?
They were wrong.
Not content for a ‘traditional’ Chapel Service, our Chaplain Carol Ramsey has made room in our Chapel for fun, lots of fun.
For a start, students (not teachers) take to the stage and grab the microphones to MC both our Middle School and Senior College Chapels. Jeremy and Harry, Middle School students, have taken to the role like ducks to water. You would never say they were ‘shy’ – that’s for sure! Introducing speakers, leading games, interviewing panel guests, you name it, they have the ability to keep their audience captivated, laughing and of course engaged with the topic each week.
Trying not to be beaten by Middle School, our Senior College Chapel is equally full of fun. Our Year 11 leaders have also taken to the limelight as they lead their peers in fun games after the singing and speaker have inspired their captivated audience. Several of our senior girls also found themselves leading students in actions to a fun song in Junior School Chapel. Yes, our younger students loved it!
Is Chapel boring?
No way, not at Cedars.
Is it meaningful, thought provoking, drawing students closer to God?
Can Chapel be both?
We think so.
