ANZAC Day is a significant day on our school calendar. This year we commemorated ANZAC Day across our College as a meaningful message was given, the ‘Last Post’ played by Mr Coutts-Smith and we had a minute of silence.
Year 2 students had a special lesson before ANZAC Day to learn about its significance and they were given a deeper look into the life of an ANZAC.
Mrs Seales brought in some very precious medals (and even a dog tag) that belong in her family and she shared with the intent listeners their significance and described what it means to be a veteran and the sacrifice that is made by each.
Three volunteers were chosen to try on some of the clothing worn by our heroes.
Students then wrote down what they had learned.
