South Coast Public Speaking Competition

Mrs Cyle Irwin, Head of English/Languages at Cedars, was excited to report about last Tuesday’s South Coast Public Speaking Competition.  Mrs Irwin said, “We had an outstanding result for our Cedars’ competitors, and I am happy to announce the following placements.”

1st Place:  Hannah Murphy, Yr 11

3rd Place:  Hannah Walton, Yr 9

3rd Place: Sophia Pesavento, Yr 9

Mrs Irwin went on to say, “The calibre of speeches was impressive and our team, mostly consisting of first time speakers, gave a great performance.  The adjudicators’ comments were unanimous in their praise and surprise at the quality and variety in the students’ speeches.”

“I would like to thank Mrs Tamminee Taylor who assisted with coaching and supporting the students at the competition and Mrs Kell Guest, Acting Deputy Principal, who attended the Speech night to support students also.”
