A number of our Year 10 Science students participated in the Science and Engineering Challenge held at the University of Wollongong recently.
The challenge is designed to inspire young people about opportunities available in science, technology and engineering careers. Students working in groups were involved in a variety of activities including building a hovercraft, a bridge, a bionic hand and many other challenging tasks. The competition was fierce against other schools from the Illawarra and the southern region.
A feature of our students’ performance on the day was their excellent teamwork and communication skills within the groups. Our Cedars students acquitted themselves well on the day and represented themselves and the College with much pride.
They had a most enjoyable day and relished the opportunity to compete in design-and-build projects or other task-oriented activities.
