As you may be aware the school bus service provided by Premier Illawarra to transport students from the Keiraville, Figtree and Cordeaux Heights area has been very crowded this year. This is a bus that we share with students from neighbouring Illawarra Christian School. We have contacted the bus company to express our concern about the overcrowding and have been told that the matter has been passed on to Transport for NSW for consideration. We were also told that no changes to school bus services are made in the first 8 weeks of the school term.
From previous dealings with the bus company we recognise that parent concerns are given greater consideration than those from the school. This is because you represent their customers; which in this case are your children who rely on this service to get to school each day. Therefore, if you are dissatisfied with the current bus service, can I urge you to please contact Premier Illawarra to reinforce our request that an additional bus service be provided to serve Cedars students. You can do this using the email address below;
You can also lodge a complaint or concern to the Ministry of Transport directly. This can be done online using the link below:
Please understand that we are doing what we can to have a separate bus for Cedars students travelling to and from the College each day but there are limited options available to us. We would greatly appreciate your support in facilitating change by expressing your personal concern to those who have the capacity to make changes to this service. In the interim can I encourage you to continue to send your children to and from school on the bus as student tallies are being taken on a regular basis by the bus company to ascertain numbers.
If you have any further questions, please contact College Reception.
