Can we be Certain?

School seems rather strange and quiet without all the children around. I miss seeing them all each day and listening to their stories and jokes. I even miss getting an ice pack for the grazed knee or bump. I have missed catching up with parents at drop off or pick up. I have missed sharing the precious moments of seeing the joy on a child’s face when they find learning success – what a privilege it is to share.

However, as we have heard consistently, these times really are ‘unprecedented’ and each day we are living with uncertainty. We are not sure what the next change will be in response to health and safety rules.

Through all these changes taking place in our world, and the introduction of remote learning at Cedars I have reflected on the many day to day things that we often take for granted and it is these things that I miss.

As we face each day with this sense of uncertainty our School has been transformed as staff have responded to the change and we now deliver our lessons online – what a huge change for everyone. During this change to remote learning, I have seen how our amazing staff have continued to work together and face these challenges and prepare for online lessons. Their creativity and collaboration as they create engaging videos to keep all our students learning has been a testament to their diligence and dedication to teach and care for their students. They have been strengthened each day by the feedback from both students and parents as they have received and responded to emails and phone calls. They are continuing to adjust their online learning to provide for all the students in their care.

But more importantly they are sustained by the things that we can all be certain of!

We know for certain that the sun will come up each day and that the knowledge of God’s love and His blessings are new every morning and with this knowledge we are all ready to continue our remote learning. We are ready each day for new ways of connecting with each other and for experiencing God’s love and knowing His peace that passes all understanding.

I encourage you all as you read this to be comforted and upheld in the CERTAIN knowledge that GOD DOES NOT CHANGE. He is our ever-present help in times of trouble and nothing can separate us from His love.

“… and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7
