Apparently, God can talk to you anywhere, anytime, at least that’s what I’ve always believed. Over the years I have often heard God speak to me while I’m fishing, driving in my car, on holidays, the list goes on and on. It’s nice to know that God fits into the rhythm of my life.
There is however, the matter of the “big decisions”, career choices, what career, when to stay or leave, financial decisions and of course relational ones are really important. With these decisions we would all benefit from a more direct voice from above.
Moses had this very experience one day on his way to work. He saw a burning tree that was being consumed by the flame. The story goes that Moses “turned aside” when he saw it, that is he stopped what he was doing and went over to the burning tree. When he got there, God identified himself and began to give Moses direction for his life.
I’ve discovered that God likes our time, He loves it when we put aside things just to be with Him. Are you seeking answers? Do you need direction? God only gave a response when he saw Moses deliberately turn aside.
Why don’t you give it a go? Create some place in your life for God, you may be surprised by what He says. After all He is a relational God.
Exodus 34:14 NLT
“You must worship no other gods, for the Lord, whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you.”
He is a God who is passionate about his relationship with you.
